EPPING FOREST OUTDOOR GROUP

Our first full day on the narrowboats gave us an opportunity to find out who was going to do what. Having had a go at the locks the day before, by 8th April 2007 we had a series of narrow bridges, parked boats, aqueducts and tunnels to play with. Our drivers had become apparent, and the manual workers ran up and down the boats and the towpaths. At one point we found we were being stalked by a hot-air balloon, but we managed to outdistance it by increasing speed to 3mph. (or knots or something). Having passed through Chirk Tunnel, it didn't take us long before we reached evening - out of darkness into darkness.
